“i want you to fuck me on this bed, next to your dead mom”
this was such an unique slasher film, i kind i’d just hate home invasion flicks but this one was surprisingly fun. it completely reinvents it and somehow makes it really enjoyable to me. the protagonist, erin is a very capable and iconic survivor, she’s extremely resourceful and she deals with the situation really well.. it seemed like she was training everyday for a situation like that. she was hunting the animal heads. not the other way round. this is a nice gender blend of brutal violence and a comedic undertone, and that’s one of the movies biggest strengths. the plot twist is so fun, and i 100% wasn’t expecting it. a member of the family hires assassins with random animal heads to murder his family simply due to money.. lmao. the gore is reallu gruesome, and just amazing. it’s very gory and the kills are intensive, and highly creative plus the suspense is immaculate all throughout. this movie also just doesn’t waste time, the intros cut short and only 20 minutes in someone’s already got an arrow through them, family drama quirky turns into bloody murder. the pace is fast, intense and captivating and i’m constantly entertained with it constant thrilling nature. the score of this film really matches the mood, the really heavy base symbolising the thick tension. it’s a great action packed cat and mouse chase. the characters (besides obviously erin) are just disposable characters, with less consistent or interesting character arcs. none of them are really focused on, and i see why as they’re all a little boring. it’s gory, campy, badass final girl, constant thrills and an unique premise - mixing comedy with home invasion/slasher making an incredible film throughout.
