I love a good vampire story, and this one nearly nailed it with its atmosphere and strange beauty. The ending kinda ruins it, but it’s still enjoyable in its own odd way.

Livide is French duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s follow up to the marvelous À L’Intérieur, and since I really love that movie, I must say I was disappointed. This one has got style, a few beautiful scenes and some good ideas (that were recently borrowed by Abigail), but it gets all lost in a confusing script that doesn’t have enough time to explain itself, since the introduction goes on for too long and the action becomes a bit rushed (the same problem as Abigail). Which is a shame, because the story had potential.

I guess lightning really doesn't strike twice in some cases huh? This is the directorial movie follow up of the same directors who did 'Inside 2007' which is one of my favorite horror movies of all time so needless to say I had my hopes up for this film and was pretty excited to watch it. However unfortunately I'm disappointed to say that this was a massive downgrade compared to their directorial debut. I don't think having a LITERAL 50 MINUTE set up to your 1 hour and 32 minutes HORROR film is a good idea and having finished watching this- it obviously wasn't! Such a lackluster borefest of a movie my god, nothing interesting happened in the first 50 minutes of this film and on top of that- it literally had annoying basic fakeout jumpscares which just added more salt to the wound. The final act isn't even that gory, creepy or the slightest bit suspenseful- it was just overly dramatic with cheesy supernatural elements thrown in with some blood spurting here and there. At this point, just watch Abigail instead.
