A wonderfully bleaker, dark end to the classic Romero of the dead trilogy. The makeup and practical effects here are absolutely incredible. Tom Savini‘s masterpiece. Sarah is an absolute queen, the Ellen Ripley of zombie flicks and Joe Pilato as Rhodes does a great performance, a mean son of bitch, with whatever scene he's in is full of nervous tension. Really like how the film tries to bring compassion and sympathy to the zombie, as a way to "try" to condition them and see why the zombie is hungry for that flesh. Which ties itself greatly to the other theme of the arrogance of people, humans are really the bad guys and loss of civilisation. The main underground setting of the film is great with how it evokes that sense of isolation, claustrophobic, and distrust and the opening and last 20 minutes of the are some of the best zombie scenes in film. Plus this has Bub one of the best zombies, he's a sweetheart and a hero :]
