This comical love story follows the story of A.J. Fikry, whose life is not at all what he expected it to be. His wife has died, his bookstore is experiencing the worst sales in its history and now his prized possession, a rare edition of Poe poems, has been stolen. He’s given up on people and even the books in his store offer another reminder that the world is changing too rapidly. But when a mysterious package arrives at the store, it gives Fikry the chance to make his life over and see things anew.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
This movie felt greatly like it was missing something

Horrible pacing as the beginning was super lackluster and brought in too much and the resolution felt like it was going on for most of the film

It did had some wonderful scenes like the car crash and the death of AJ but was full of filler and sorry performances/writing

I did cry but much disappointed me

Every bad thing in life is the result of bad timing And every good thing is a result of good timing.

Tbh I don't understand all of the mixed reviews of this film. I quite enjoyed it. I really liked the overall story, it's cute, sweet, wholesome, and sad. Given this film was based off of a book which shows how possibly better the book might be.
I loved Kunal Nayyar's performance in this film as he did a great job at portraying AJ through his ups and downs of his life.
The girls who play Maya did an amazing job at playing her, there performance too was great.
This movie sort of touched me in a way to enjoy life more and stop being so grumpy at some points and to just enjoy the moment.
Glad to have watched this with my family
