*Juliette Hardy: Another useless question. You can never answer the truth.
And God Created Woman* is my first ever foreign film and it being released in the 50’s is new for me. I always try to go out of my comfort zone but this is the most I’ve gone out. I don’t speak French but the subtitles were already there.
The actual move, in my opinion, is just okay. There’s nothing wrong with it besides some dragging parts and scuffed bits. The actual plot here wasn’t bad at all and I was all for the idea. I just don’t think some scenes were powerful enough to be great. My favorite part here is the writing. It’s so beautifully done that it shocked me to a degree. I would have liked Juliette more if they didn’t make some weird decisions. I don’t like that she has her shoes off the whole movie and her like almost getting run over by the car that wasn’t even going fast.
But, this movie is very average and good for its time. I would never go back to watch it, but I’ll remember it forever. For good and bad reasons.
