No one is ever going to confused this for a good movie: all the acting is terrible, the effects are garbage (from the unnecessarily CGI net that writhes around for no reason to the Halloween prop severed arms and feet), the story makes no sense and tons of plot holes (and a bunch of hints that they are going to push a message and they never do (I would have sworn this was going to be a Jesus or Feminism movie)), the script sucks (that Native American chick really thinks she's being philosophical, but she's not really saying anything), the sets are just sad (the "cave" which is just a basement with tarp walls), there are multiple dropped plot lines, the sound effects and score and soundtrack all suck, the costumes that just don't make sense, the total inattention to detail (there is one scene where there are shots that are clearly day, dusk, and night used interchangeably), etc. The only reason anyone is watching this is in the hope that it just might be a "good bad" movie, which it has been well established that it is. The bad movie community promised me that Suburban Sasquatch was a hilarious, fun piece of shit and I can't disagree. The one thing I can't quite figure out is how honest this movie is; is it a movie that turned out bad or a movie made specifically to be bad. Based on the special features, I think this was an earnest attempt at a real movie that just so happened to be made by people who were totally incompetent. That sasquatch costume fucking sucks, but there is a ten minute special feature on the Blu-Ray where you watch the lady make the costume and it feels like she's being totally serious. The fact that the credits mention who did every single effect makes me think they were actually proud of the shitty CGI arrows. This movie is a piece of shit, but it's still so fun.
