This just made me sad.
I wanted to watch a funny, lighthearted comedy movie with Jake Johnson in it and what I got was a generic love story AND THATS IT.
The idea HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL and they decided to choose the most boring execution.
Even while having this generic cookie cutter idea the script still needed like 2 or 3 more drafts cause that was so half assed. Inconsistent characterisation, unclear motivations, no message or even resolution, just a bummer :(
And on a technical level, the cinematography is boring, the colour grading and sound mixing are inconsistent and the editing is just ehh.
(The movie really wasn’t that bad btw, I just had expectations 😭)
