i remember listening to Rodriguez's debut album many many years ago. i purposefully didn't look up anything about him because i knew this documentary existed. in a way this was the ideal experience since i also built up the mystery of Rodriguez in my head and now i finally have some answers.

I can't describe the experience I had watching this, I couldn't hold back my tears at certain moments.

Rodriguez is very emblematic of Detroit- unnoticed & underrated, but soulful and has so much to offer the rest of the world. A story like this would be rare to occur this day and age, so I was extremely touched by it. Going days not realizing youve impacted so many lives is such a wild concept. 

Also a reminder that art is political whether you realize it or not.
