Interesting to hear others thoughts on collecting vhs, dvd, blu ray and digital. I personally am moving to digital unless a favorite movie with special edition physically for my collection.

I could only endure 95 minutes of this shit. This is a sorry fucking excuse for a documentary, because it isn’t a documentary. As a collector of physical media myself, this movie really got on my fucking nerves. And what’s worse, it’s the same quality as something you’d find on YouTube, yet the director wants money for it. It’s a 2 and a half hour compilation of people droning on and on and on about video store nostalgia and the same recycled talking points about physical media being important because “you can always keep physical media forever, unlike digital”, but beyond that, there’s no substance to this “documentary”. It seems as if the people in this movie aren’t capable of discussing the misconceptions of physical media collectors, like being perceived as mentally unstable hoarders.
No disrespect towards any of the collectors, though. Some of them are pretty entertaining and I’m subscribed to their channels.
