No amount of cool explosions and campy one-liners can hide the underlying dystopia this film exudes. From the jump, the lack of humanity made my skin crawl. I wasn't expecting that, honestly. It's a fun yet unnerving time.

Well that was pretty loony. And I loved it. Maybe the last movie before Arnie started losing enthusiasm for acting and started thinking about governating. There's laughs, both intentional and not, and some wonk-ass CGI with those helicopters that looked like left over Power Rangers props and ultra goofy edits throughout. But it all adds up to quality entertainment. What keeps it all together is the plot, which was honestly well put together and helps you buy in. I totally believed the why's. Everything was well set up, delivered enough surprise and stayed true to the universe that was created.

If you've already watched Total Recall about 5 or 6 times, and you should, then this offers a reasonably alternative for something a bit similar but different enough.
