When Ann, husband George, and son Georgie arrive at their holiday home they are visited by a pair of polite and seemingly pleasant young men. Armed with deceptively sweet smiles and some golf clubs, they proceed to terrorize and torture the tight-knit clan, giving them until the next day to survive.

If somebody judges me for liking the remake more than the original, at least I have both Michael Haneke & Tyler the Creator on my side.I may like some other Michael Haneke films more, but I do believe that both versions of 'Funny Games' are some of his that best exemplify his style and what he is going for as a director. I do have a sentimental attachment to the remake because it was the first Haneke film I watched, but that doesn't negate the power this movie holds. I wrote a longer essay about this movie, so I won't repeat too much, but this movie is unrelenting. His direction is fully realized, it has some of his best performances, and it is just a more polished movie than the original. This, or 'The Piano Teacher', is a good starting place if you want to check out his movies.
