Definitely felt like Universal’s attempt to cash in on its own Frankenstein series without using the same amount of budget. Great doggo shots. I believe this was Lon Chaney Jr.’s first big horror role? The Wolf Man will break him out way more. Also noted some music reused in The Wolf Man. The titular Man-Made Monster checks all the boxes for a true Universal Monster—sympathetic, created from mad science, and played by one of the classic horror greats. I think an electrocuting monster is a cool idea, and I’d love to have seen more done with it.
