a lot of great artistic value, ahead of its time with the low budget. it’s the show, YOU before the show. with how it unveils sadism in a simple way to create an environment filled with vulnerability and jealous natures. alongside it there’s a creation of disturbing phone calls from an unknown entity, could it be supernatural, a stalker or her schizophrenia?
i like how it deals with reality in an unserious way but at the same time subtly perfectly mirrors it. it’s more of a thriller than horror and with that being said there wasn’t much mystery to be solved or revealed. it tries to be hitchcock (especially with how much he’s mentioned or hinted at) with the violent revealings but it leads to almost no suspense. and when the shock happens and ends, the film still continues for 10-15 more mins and doesn’t know what else to do.
