At first I wasn’t too sure about this film, it was slightly bland and i couldn’t get into it. After about 30 mins though i realised that it’s absolutely brilliant, a wonderful story of fatherhood and family, with so much depth. Visually Pamfir is spectacular, not just the camera movement and colour are amazing but the landscape of Western Ukraine and the gorgeous cultural traditions that immerse this film. It’s a visceral adventure that’s really quite emotional, I found a real connection to Pamfir and his loving family. Beautiful film, an unexpected masterpiece that’s definitely worth a watch
