A goated college professor of mine is in this so therefore, this shit rocks

Basically almost like a Friday the 13th sequel on a (lesser) budget and similar in tone to Evil Laugh, released a year earlier. I really love the overall vibe of this film from the synth pop opening credits, which immediately grabbed my attention to the quirky characters. Due to the house party setting of the film, a lot of scenes remind me of friday part 4, which may have been the overall goal because the the closing credits of this film is very similar in style to the opening credits of most friday films. A lot of people's complaints is that the kills are too spaced out and they don't like everything that happens in between kills, but i did. I love the quirky character interactions. I love how the filmmakers just inserted random clips from other horror films and pornos because none of the actors wanted to do nude scenes. I also loved that one "sex" scene where they're just kissing and rubbing each other. Sure most of the kills were bad but i actually loved the characters. The third act and killer reveal made me a bit flabbergasted and i think that's whats stopping me from giving it 5 stars. But overall this is still a good flick and i would totally recommend.

So today i went on a journey to try and discover some not very underrated slasher films from the 1980s that aren’t so widely known or talked about by people and stumbled across this one titled night screams from the year 1987 and i’ve got to say that the premise of it was one that intrigued me a little like a slasher film that takes place a house party while there’s killers on the lose picking off all the teens at this party one by one like im obviously gonna be seated for this one and let’s just say that i was completely let down while watching this one because i first wanna start off by saying that the acting was so terrible and just some of the worst i’ve ever seen where it made the film be so unwatchable at points throughout and i know that i shouldn’t have put so much faith into some low budget 1980s slasher but in my case there are some that are just like this one where they won’t be some of the best but they’re still watchable atleast with decent actors in them and my second point that i wanna get to is how horribly written each character in this one was like it felt as though they didn’t put all that much effort in trying to make any one of their characters a bit likeable so that audience had atleast a character to root for by the end of it but no this one had you wanted the killers to just off them all off because of how bland and uninteresting they all were which i will say that when it comes to slashers if you aren’t gonna produce a great film atleast have some likeable characters in it because then it’s like what was the point other even making the film if that was the case you should have just left it in the drafts and then the kills in this one were your typical 1980s go to death sequences with a little stab here and there or some sort of strangulation going on like i needed some creative and unique kills but that’s asking to much from these old slashers and lastly can we talk about how much i hated the reveal of the killer because all throughout the film it made us believe it was these two mental institution escapees but when it’s finally revealed to us it was one of the most boron characters that was behind it all and one that you could have easily guessed to be the one up to it considering how much the girl got called “looney” or “crazy bitch” by all the other characters i definitely would have liked if it was revealed to be david all along who was murdering his friends since he did suffer from mental health issues like the perfect opportunity was right there and they blew it!

I sometimes wonder if I’ve watched all the good ones but I keep watching all the obscure ones looking for a hidden gem.
