This isn’t a movie you watch. It’s a movie you survive. I survived Scream (1981)

I think even the world’s biggest scaredy cat would also find this boring and not scary

I adore really bad prototype slashers from the 80s, but there’s literally nothing redeemable about this.
it not even In the so bad it’s good category, because it’s just so inept and boring. an overgrown runtime for literally nothing of substance to actually happen. dry dialogue, absolutely zero character development and so many canon fodder that somehow manage to survive, a dangerously low death count and when there’s actual kills they’re offscreen and barely any gore whatsoever. the acting is lifeless and unmemorable and while the setting definitely had potential, they really didn’t use it very effectively. the sad thing is the scariest thing is the rat jumpscare… the characters are just straight up unlikeable random characters just being introduced and one literally being misogynistic. the pacing is also really confusing, the pacing starts really fast and just randomly slows down as the movie progresses, a man dies and a literally an hour later and nothing of significance has happened. and omg.. whoever did the sound should just be fired on the spot. It doesn’t fit the atmosphere of the film and Is jarring in parts. while I’d love to fend this absolutely garbage slasher, there’s literally only 2 things I like about it - the setting and the bloody axe scene. everything else can just go in the bin. I’m glad the name scream was reused as that title definitely has potential

Cover art is the peak of this movie. This movie is slow and boring, but the worst part is how the characters just keep walking away from the group to be killed one by one. Even by horror movie cliche standards this is awful.
