SHE WILL is watching Alice Krige command a role that she’s absolutely divine in — an aging actress of the yesteryears reliving trauma by the hands of her debut film director (oddly titled The Navajo Frontier) and being lured by the magic of sacrificial Scottish witch spirits. Did I mention the story kicks off post-masectomy? Wild.
It’s a modern horror film that delivers on its spooky folk elements but lacks the emotional core in connecting with trauma/pain of both our female protaganists. When the darkness is predictably overcome, you can’t relate to the relief sighed by the character. The experimental photography and jump-cut editing is commendable but I wish it value added to the narrative alot more.
