Pray (rovjakt) - She has a damn big load of bullets
Rovjakt is a movie released in 2021 that’s about a group of travelers, that’s being chanced by a crazy woman in the forest. This is a total shithole of a movie
First off, it uses tons lazy plot twists, an annoying cutoff/cliffhanger ending, it’s very cliche and there are some huge gaps in the script. That’s only some of the issues. The best scene, is quite literally when the crazed woman kills herself.
The script is weak, it follows a narrative storyline, that is linear, and those types of scripts can be good, but by using plot twists, predictability, lazy story, it immediately becomes problematic for critics & audiences.
Even the makeup looks pretty bad, it looks like 50s-late 90s pink blood, with some cheap bullet hole makeup kit from Walmart. The Mise-en-Scène is also, unfortunate, things are just placed illogically, and unnatural, just to move the plot/characters forward.
The best thing about this movie, for me is the setting. It’s always interesting to see what you can do with a forest. There is many other poor stuff I could bring up, like how inconsistent it is, how «preppy» the color looks, the development, depth, originality. It even fails to be fun, which is pretty bad for a movie that is trying to be fun.
Overall? It’s a poorly made movie, with a lazy/unoriginal idea, and bad execution. 3/10, because I’m feeling kind! I would not recommend it
