i felt so sick to my stomach and wanted to puke that i could not finish this movie. i learned about emmett till when i was in eight grade, only a year younger than him. i am now sixteen and in highschool and i am still in fury and in tears about this poor child's case.

roy bryant and j.w. milam deserved to die, i don't care if i sound cruel. those two white men will never be able to go through the pain that emmett did during his last moments, and neither will i.

i am also angry about the whistle in the movie. emmett never whistled at that cunt of a woman, so why would they put it in the movie? i will never be able to get poor emmett out of my head. rest in peace emmett till.

update: i somehow finished the movie. mamie till-mobley is a powerful and strong woman.

Crazy how it took until 2022 until lynching was made a federal crime

It's honestly mind blowing to me that they never faced any punishment for what they did. That they could live a long life while Emmet stayed stuck as a fourteen year old. And the fact that the lady who started it all died just three years ago. Three years ago. It's honestly insane how this is not long before us. People's parents, grandparents acted like this.
