Man, the late 2000s really were the time to remake Jamie Lee Curtis’s early hits, huh? This was a poster I recall seeing very often at the movie theater I grew up going to. It always gave an unsettling vibe to 7 year old me, but as an adult I feel like this really isn’t anything beyond generic. Hell, it feels like it steals more from Halloween than anything (this might be because I’ve never seen the original, but I digress).
Is it a passable film? Sure. It’s nothing stellar, mind you, but you can kill 90 minutes or so with it. My big question is what they were thinking with the cinematography throughout this whole thing; one minute this is shot like, well, a movie, and then it looks like it’s shot like a film or show made for the ABC Family channel, and then it looks like it was shot for an episode of The Office. Was there any real point to this?
