This one is a gem, be it in its approach, its storytelling, or the story. Kim Ki-duk's films always have that philosophy the less dialogue there is, the greater the impact. The Isle is no exception. The way Kim Ki-duk designs every scene is unbelievable. Some moments will make you look away, others will fill you with disgust, but that's the beauty of filmmaking. If a film doesn't make you feel things, that's what routine filmmaking looks like.I especially want to talk about the cinematography. I loved each and every frame of this film—the water, the mist , and the way those elements work hand in hand with the story. That final shot... uff. And the underwater sequences! Pure perfection.

The performances are really interesting too. You expect a certain kind of acting from a Kim Ki-duk film, and it absolutely delivers. My only issue is that it bored me at times, though that could be a me problem. I'm not fully used to this style of storytelling, and the lack of dialogue occasionally made the pacing feel slow.

Other than that, this is an unbelievable film and probably the best Kim Ki-duk movie I've seen so far.

It's a very interesting film, the setting is beautiful and intriguing. And as much as I appreciated the bizarre nature of the characters' actions, I can't shake the annoyance I felt at seeing all this animal cruelty, which is truly unnecessary.
