Folk music ain’t never been this important…
It’s getting a 7/10 only for the music tho, I do actually enjoy folk to a degree, but it just ain’t this deep. This whole film was a monotone, like bland color-scheme, period drama on a look at the day in the life of a struggling folk artist. The movie gave no real backstory, no real future, it was really just a cutout of like 7 days or so about this random guys life and how he sucks at it. Doing what he can to get by and maintain relationships through music, but he just isn’t. The film was fairly disappointing, I expected a more lively jovial biopic type of film, but I just got a slow dark drama. The acting was good, Oscar Isaac played his role pretty well, just never really got any emotion or feeling through the acting or the plot. It was really just a bland movie. Now the script and songwriting were both phenomenal and thats why it’s a 7/10 but any other day it would be lower… I expected more from the Coen Brothers
