I was originally planning on reading the graphic novel and then watching this, however, I just could not stand the art style. So, I watched this, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s the Victorian Suicide Squad connecting characters and lore from Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Sherlock Holmes, etc. However, apparently people hate this film, in large part due to it being inaccurate to the source material. I am blissfully ignorant of the source material, and thus was able to enjoy this very fun movie on its own merits. Would recommend to anyone who loves superhero or ragtag crew stuff.
