This and Take Out have taught me that Sean Baker is someone I need to catch up on. I enjoyed Anora but it appears his early work is everything I love in films. The Cinema Vérité style always works for me and I find it very inspirational but when you have a cast that can evoke a realism then you find this perfect spot of capturing a truth that is hard to find in fictional stories. This is one I’ll be putting on a few times when I’m alone at 2am and in need to feel something.
