Musicals are totally wasted in me, they are such a drag. They be like, I’m doing nothing super important, Ope lemme break out into a jig. Not my type of entertainment personally. There were a few good jokes in it that reminded me of airplane the movie but in the end mid through and through for me.

easily one of the greatest movies ever: everything here is just pure genius, a basis for everything that came later. The colours, the acting, the dialogues and most of all the score, of course, merge in such a perfect way. It's so joyous, fantastical, happy and whimsical.

This movie has obviously been a huge inspiration for La La Land, and is greatly surpassed by the latter if you ask me. The only thing that I liked more about this movie is the story about Hollywood transitioning away from silent pictures which was detrimental for some of the stars. However, that just felt like a cheap copy of the plot of Sunset Boulevard.
