I honestly feel like this is one of those films that I may be too young and inexperienced with avant-garde film to give this a typical star rating like I do with most films I watch (I'm gonna do it anyways)
But this was pretty breathtaking. The repetitiveness, to me, is obviously intentional, and the use of signs and these images seemed like commentary on our lives in a way. Like we become so normalized to these things, brands are our lives.
These images were beautiful to me, and I honestly became lost in this repetition in a weird way
To think that Frampton was able to really convincingly portray his message and commentary while the main purpose of this film was to prove a theory in a way that I won't even begin to try to understand is so so impressive and cool to me
What I found most striking to me is that I watched this in my class and the professor wasn't present for any of it, as he was doing one-on-ones with students in a seperate room. Ten minutes in, most of the class stopped watching and proceeded to turn on The Incredibles and mock the film that was on the projector.
I know that sounds like I'm on a high-horse, but I do think it was kind of funny knowing what the message of the film was.
Anyway, I am literally writing this while I have other homework due in 83 minutes. I got the oven going to make some bacon as well, and I haven't even had a coffee. Don't talk to me before my coffee, amiright?? Live, laugh, love
