Tensions rise when a stripper and religious protester are trapped together in a peep show booth and must come together to survive the apocalypse in 1980's Chicago.

This was ultimately not entirely my jam… don’t get me wrong, there were definitely somethings I liked. There was some decent humor, great neon lighting, and some fun moments, but top to bottom I just didn’t enjoy this. The two main characters are fine, kinda basic and one dimensional, but overall they aren’t horrible. However, what is bad is the acting… it has to be the most clunky part of the film. Overall, it’s not one I’ll ever revisit, but it is a great concept that I’m glad got made into a film!

It's tricky to review this one, because on the one hand this is exactly the kind of movie that horror fans need to be supporting: small, independently made films that are clearly made with a passion by very talented people. All of that applies to Revealer. From the writing to the acting to the lighting and set design, this is a well made movie. The two leads are charming and overcome their intentionally explicit stereotypes to provide the heart and backbone of this film.

On the other hand, the limitations of either budget or scope are the things that hold Revealer back. The pacing is a little too slow to drive home the tension that underlies the characters' plight, and the ultra narrow focus on a biblical apocalypse can't help but prove how tight the budget must have been.

Still, the positives outweigh the negatives here, and while it feels more like a bottle episode of a TV show than its own standalone thing, I'm glad I checked it out.
