“for person with no forgiveness in heart, living even worse punishment than death.”
my mum absolutely adores all of the original karate kid movies and that love has moved down to me. i have grown up watching the first one on repeat and did not remember much of the second and third.
therefore, my mum decided to put the second one on today and it was all coming back to me. daniel larusso is one of the sweetest people ever, buck owens definitely wrote ‘made in japan’ about daniel and kumiko and you cannot tell me otherwise 🥹
the martial arts choreography for the film was designed by pat e. johnson which the movie wouldn’t be the same without. the karate itself is a main character and it will always continue to fascinate me.
i would just like to say how brilliant yuji okumoto was as ‘chozen’. his comedic yet aggressive manner was just what this movie needed: very similar to those of johnny lawrence in the first one.
