all the films about jazz are so good, whiplash, swing girls, this, lalaland was alright too. The CGI at the start was painful to watch, although later the animation was phenomenal. I just don't understand why they couldn't animate the whole film like that and used CGI for the start

Damien Chazelle for weebs and a masterpiece I wish got more attention. Emotionally resonating (especially if you’re really passionate about making art) with excellently written character arcs, killer visuals, and an absolute banger of a score. The 3d models during the performance scenes look pretty jarring, but that's my only complaint. It’s easily one of the best films of the decade, and I’m not saying that lightly. Long live JASS.
