It's very ironic how this Saudi-Arabian-funded movie makes the point that people's lives would be much easier if they abandoned their morals and obediently participated in an inhumane empire, considering this is exactly what is happening today with Saudi Arabia acting as that very empire.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund is pumping so much money into industries like eSports that boycotting their state-run, rigged events (give this video a watch) has become almost impossible for fans, players, and organizations alike.
In the movie, the heroes do the right thing and fight together against the empire, risking their lives. In reality, Saudi Arabian media and tourism are being legitimized more and more every year. The stark contrast between the movies rebellious message and its financial backing is impossible to ignore. Ultimately, this movie is demanding its own boycott.
