this little indie dramedy reminds so much of the romantics and also those like 12 season long tv shows you get advertised on Disney plus that are like look at this family, who’s friends with this family, they all have issues! It’ll work out - life ay haha.
I think focussing on this midlife crisis phase to me is extremely hard to get right, I don’t love the comedy and I searched it up the dialogue is like mumble something idk but I just don’t think it rlly works.
Noah Baumbach is the master of this, selfish characters but still have redeeming characteristics and feel so much more human and relatable as opposed to these caricatures. I still like this more than the romantics but yeah.
