Although director Howard Hawks intentionally allowed the actors to constantly talk over one another, I didn’t enjoy having every other sentence interrupted, and all that noise was genuinely irritating and even gave me a headache.. I also found Susan’s character extremely annoying and disrespectful, so it’s not surprising to me that the film was a box-office failure when it was first released.. However, Cary Grant’s performance was so incredible that I would give 2.5 stars for his acting alone.. Ofc, I should also mention the cleverly written comedic scenes, the fact that the leopard was a real trained animal performing alongside the actors, and the film’s endless chaos that reflects the idea that love goes beyond logic.. Those are definitely among the film’s strongest qualities
