fun fact: this was the very First movie I saw in cinemas. it has literally every component of a 90s kids movie— teens with attitude, dinosaurs, transformer robots, space travel, the father/son embrace where dad goes "I love you, son" at the end, AND believing that anything is possible with teamwork!! and friendship!! I still love it hahah
