I won’t try to pretend like I actually understood this completely. What I can do though is appreciate this movie for what it is.
Because, this is definitely something.
Its obviously a reimagining of the "Jesus Christ" story. Its also at the same time, a commentary on religion and how stupid it is in a social context. Also, you can’t not mention how funny some scenes are. Greaser’s Palace does all of this very well despite its few shortcomings.
In part, it could do without all its gratuitous nudity and violence.
Overall, I could see myself hating/loving this in the future. Robert Downey Sr. Is definitely a filmmaker I am looking forward to watch more of. Anyway, this tired me out… (in a good way)
