"Hey, I got news for you homie, I ain't your bitch anymore."
The line above this is not from Samuel L. Jackson. Although, he was by far the best thing about this movie. It's a buddy cop movie which just didn't quite work, makes me sad that Jackson didn't really seem to get a fair shake as a leading man, this was the most badass I've seen him outside of the obligatory Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. My favorite scene by far is Jackson, the future Nick Fury, hitting Anthony Mackie, Captain America, upside the head with a shield shaped trashcan lid. Outside of a few moments, this was just highly forgettable.
I'd pair this with another underwhelming Samuel L. Jackson leading role, Snakes on a Plane. While that was much more intentionally bad, both are mired in mediocrity.
