I still don’t know what it is I just watched or what any of it is supposed to signify fully, but I’ll definitely be rewatching this at some point. Goodbye, 20th Century splits its runtime between differing time periods in a post-apocalyptic setting that is surreal and discomforting. I had no idea where things were going to go next and the sudden jump to the final new year of the 20th century was interesting even if the aesthetic changed drastically. Perhaps it’s dealing with the anxieties of an uncertain future? Or the immortality granted through art and storytelling? I’m honestly very unsure. One thing is for certain, its pretty enough to look at that I didn’t mind the fart jokes.
