probably the only reason i knew what was going on was bc i read the book. MUCH better than the book as well! keeps its story relatively focused and actually explains marlowe's want to find regan. pretty beat for beat retelling but i enjoyed it much more. holy shit lauren bacall just give me one chance

improved:- less homophobia, misogyny- liked that they made marlowe a lil bit of a slut- more coherent story- HOLY SHIT EDDIE MARS LAST SCENE ???

worse:- carmen reveal- brody's killer reveal (deadass did not explain why he did it, hayes code moment ig)

This movie makes you pay attention to it I liked that about it. I felt it did not focus on the story it was tring to tell felt like it was all over the place but it was a fun watch.
