Hell’s Dogs is an amazing movie, and I absolutely love it. It reminded me exactly why I’m so obsessed with Japanese thrillers — seriously, they’re just on another level.
If I had to pick one thing to praise, it’s the characters. Every single one is unique. No one feels like a copy of another. Bear, Tak, Muro, the old lady — all so different, and all look insanely cool.
The film gives you a glimpse of what the Yakuza might really be like. But heads up: if you’re into Japanese thrillers, you gotta know — they love their blood and freaky moments. Almost every Japanese thriller I’ve watched has those two things locked down. Bloody and freaky. And that’s exactly my vibe.
Here, you get tons of blood — stabbing, killing, lynching — and just a tiny sprinkle of weirdness. Just enough to keep it intriguing.
Hell’s Dogs? Highly recommend.
