It’s crazy to think that Hilter was alive for 5 years after this came out and it’s basically just a whole movie clowning him, it makes it a bit more entertaining. The majority of this movie is mostly just an average Charlie Chaplin movie with overacting and slapstick gags but the last 5 minutes are something special. I don’t really want to say what happens to not spoil it but yeah, phenomenal ending. Besides the ending, the movie itself isn’t bad, it’s funny at times, a lot of slapstick humor which is meh for me. Slapstick humor kind of derails acting so the acting isn’t great but it’s still fun. I might watch again.

A very interesting film. The way film made humor out of Hitler was quite interesting. The film showed the ego and greediness of dictators by making fun of their ambitions, the way they talked, their gestures, etc. The last speech by the Jewish barber was beautiful and powerful. One of the best monologue I have ever heard in a film. I just wish the film had been less focused on comedy and more focused on the evil of the Nazis. Although I enjoyed the humor I didn’t feel like I was emotionally connected and invested in the film because of it. Still a great film that cleverly through humor shows the ego of dictators and an absolute banger of a speech to cap off! Would highly recommend!
