When the words “The following interview was recorded in 1972” appeared on the screen I thought… k so like Fargo. It’s “real”. But when I learned that this was a real interview… 🤯! Are you kidding!
The animations, reenactments, and set design are done so well.
I feel super inspired to make something. I would love to make something as well done as this! I mean wow!
Pretty effed up honestly!

Absolutely wild the lengths that people will go to. I cannot imagine going for a self-help or some sort of seminar and allowing something like this to happen. I would 100% get the fuck out of there.
This is some cult bullshit. It just shows the cruelty of man.

8/365. The pit in my chest after watching this. So physically uncomfortable. I didn’t realize that an overlooked origin point of the self-help industry was something so grim and demented. The part that will stick with me the most is how the mechanics of torture were upheld mostly by distrust and fear. The interviewer kept asking, why wasn’t there a revolt? Why didn’t you just run away? And I think it speaks to how abuse, torture, oppression, etc. feel so inescapable when they’re unfolding in real time. This is what’s at the top of every pyramid of power, isn’t it? It’s almost too on the nose that the company was called “Holiday Magic Inc.” too with all the smoke and mirrors obscuring the intense abuse.
