So much denim. Too much denim. My favorite thing about this movie is the fact that they paid a stuntman $1800 to be lit on fire and run around and later they discovered they forgot to turn the cameras on so they had to find the stuntman and pay him another $1800 to do it again. I really enjoyed this. I thought it was going to be a typical 70s exploitation movie but this blew me away. I feel that having a female director eliminated the typical male gaze seen in this type of movie and it was really refreshing to see. I loved how unique a few of the kills were. All around a fun time.

Antes de las Batallas Reales, Los juegos del hambre, las purgas y aquel rescate en Nueva York, Stephanie Rothman ideó la distopía definitiva: abolida la pena de muerte en Estados Unidos, los condenados por asesinato son enviados a Terminal Island donde no hay leyes y pueden hacer todas las barbaridades que quieran. Bajo el aspecto formal y narrativo de un survival de Serie B, Stephanie Rothman continúa incidiendo en detalles feministas a los que aquí se añaden los comentarios raciales: la protagonista, nueva habitante de la isla, es una chica negra que conseguirá que la facción de los asesinos buenos (porque los asesinos también pueden ser buenas personas) se rebele contra los asesinos malos, liberando de paso a las chicas sometidas que al final resultan ser un Equipo A de lo más solvente.
