Starting off the year with one of my favourite films, Suzume! Part of Makoto Shinkai's disaster trilogy, it features some seriously stunning visuals just like its siblings, as well as a fantastical plot full of twists and turns. One of my only complaints with it is the age gap between Suzume and Shouta; a 17 year old and a 21 year old shouldn't be in love. I know the word 'love' was never used, but it sure was implied quite heavily. It's very odd, to say the least, and it sours some of their scenes together for me. With that being said, while it's not my favourite of the trilogy, Suzume is still such a great film with some powerful themes; if you like Your Name., I'm sure this'll also take the biscuit.
