A pedestrian spooker, exclusive to Tubi of all places, sees Barrera as an expectant mother who after a fall is consigned to 24/7 titular bed rest. But despite an array of snacks and books and a nifty grabber for those hard to reach items, her rest is troubled by the appearance of a spooky child who may or may not be the ghost of her son…
This hits a lot of familiar beats, with an is it real or is she just losing her shit narrative structure, a few decent bait and switch moments as to what the true motive of the possible supernatural entity is and the unintentionally (or in this case maybe a little intentionally) gaslighting husband, here in the form of beardy brit Guy Bernett.
Props to Barrera for at least making such re-tread material halfway decent and watchable.
The highlight being that moment when she refers to herself in the third person as Mommy. Ahem.
