Beatrice: I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me.
Really thought I wouldn’t dig this, but I found myself enjoying this. Not as grand or beautiful as what Shakespeare warrants. But a really interesting reinterpretation of the story.

I’m not even a Clark Gregg super fan but he was the only person who delivered these lines naturally. There were some good physical comedy additions but if I didn’t know the plot prior to watching this I would be so damn confused on what was happening.
Also a prime example of why being in black and white is not always a good thing for modern movies. Sucked the life even more out of this dull film.

If I didn’t know the play, I’d have no idea what the hell is going on. Cute that Joss made this to keep himself sane during Avengers but it just screams “I’m gonna fuck around with my theater friends”.

Despite all of its flaws, this film has a really fun energy. You can tell that it was just about letting loose and having a good time with the material.
