This is probably a top 10 most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. I'm sure it would be absolutely incredible to see in a theater, but you could honestly pop the Blu Ray in just to show off your TV.
Plotwise, this is pretty bare bones, but there are still some interesting ideas being played with here. A man trying to make a better life for himself ends up making a worse life for himself and ruining other people's lives in the process. A pretty common story, and the state plays the common role of instigator in it. The two leads are functionally the same character/person just born into different circumstances and the movie leans into that heavily near the end. Overall, it's not going to make any groundbreaking social commentary, it's all ideas a politically and socially engaged person would be well acquainted with but it's certainly worth a watch for technical execution alone.
