Saint Omer is a gripping and heavy courtroom drama that depicts the isolation and depression many post-partum mothers experience. It uses the testimony of Laurence to explore how generational trauma and racism had all culminated into this tragic act of infanticide. While slow and quite challenging and ambiguous, it was a very interesting watch that made me think a lot after the credits rolled.
