I really liked the first half of the film because it had fun romcom vibes but the second half kinda fell through for me as it lost that plot and became more of a melodrama and I felt uncomfortable since I didn’t know SA would be included in one scene and brushed off. But those would be my only critiques, overall it was a good movie and I really liked the cinematography and production

why is the blatant corrective raping of waitung so glossed over and basically ignored? and weiwei referring to it as “liberation” is crazy work. none of it really makes sense given that how lightly they treat the aftermath! :( 

this could have been such a fun watch if it had just committed to being a lighthearted gay romcom instead of introducing these heavier elements
