Should’ve been called Jim Carrey does what the fuck he wants: the movie. If this was done by anybody else besides Carrey it would’ve been a horrendous flop but Jim Carrey brings such an energy to the film it makes them so good, just the way he moves and acts and delivers his lines is always so comedic. I do think this one is funnier than the original which is definitely a hot take but there’s a lot more gags and ridiculousness in this one than the original. Don’t get me wrong, they are both hilarious but the original is just a teeny bit slower than this one which is why it loses out. My only real problem I have with this movie is how they do kind of turn him into a Tarzan-like character, being able to control wild animals and stuff. The original didn’t have that as much but do in some scenes but this one went a little overboard with it. I love how they show him as an animal rights guy which made some scenes hilarious like the monopoly man part. Truly a comedic goldmine, fucking hilarious. I will 100% rewatch this banger. Like a glove!!!!
