I was gonna type a long rant about how sinister and narcissistic this gay bear AI slop movie is. But honestly, the moment when skinny Zach lovingly calls fat Zach “shortstack” and writer-director-lead Max Talisman ADRs himself responding, “For the record, I’m average height ahahahahahahah” said it all.

go see this movie if you love gay joy fr, it kicked me hard as fuck right in the singleness. Tall Zack is soooo Scared of My Guitar by Olivia Rodrigo. it was so freaking adorable watching Tall Zack gain a freaking spark in his eyes are you kidding? and Funny Zack was, I mean, FUNNY. I really gotta shout out the script here bc it really captured the minutae of just being alive: needing someone to repeat themself, or someone not getting your reference, or having an awkward or silly moment. and the actors 100% worked with that material and brought it to life. Ava was an icon too, I love love LOVE seeing older lesbian characters have style charm and personality. The costuming was perfect and so was the set design, the cinematography, the directing, you name it. I'm only taking half a star off bc they used the miscommunication trope and that trope is evil and did cause the ending to be a little awkward but honestly I'm not too mad. I definitely cried at least twice watching this so props.
