Fred Sears was given a challenge that no director should have ever had to face: he had to make a picture with Bill Haley as the lead. Anything for the teenyboppers, as they say.
This is one of those pictures where there's a barebones plot padding the performances from Haley, the Platters and Freddy Bell and the Bellboys. Thankfully that barebones plot is carried by the stunning short-haired Lisa Gaye, who not only moves and grooves but asserts herself using her beauty when the movie's manager tries to short her on her share of the profits. All ends well as our heroes battle the preferences of the older crowd and their old fashioned ways. I didn't hate it.
